Qtego is celebrating its 15th Anniversary in 2024 by looking back. This story is part of a series highlighting pioneering Qtego innovations and how they have changed the event fundraising industry.

MULTIEVENT PARTICIPATION

Setting the industry standard in how easily donors can give to more of the causes they care about.

Americans donate widely and frequently. Almost half of donors (47%) give money to three to five organizations, and 15% give to six or more, according to Gallup. These generous donors often participate in more than one fundraiser during the same season or even on the same date.

With so much competition for donors’ attention and dollars, Qtego knew it was important to make it incredibly easy for them to give to the causes they care about and for our customers to never miss out on a mission-driving monetary gift.

For these reasons, we launched Multievent Participation in 2023. With this innovation, guests can participate in auctions, give to fund-a-needs, answer pleas for critical gifts and more without ever leaving their Qtego Profile. We are currently the only fundraising platform on the market with this capability.

Gregory Smith

Regional Director of Fundraising Services

Multievent Participation provides an incredible convenience for the donor,” says Gregory Smith, Regional Director of Fundraising Services at Qtego. He says that before Qtego developed Multievent Participation, supporters who were registered for more than one fundraiser on the same platform could only be logged into one event at a time. This meant they had to double-check and correct personal and payment information for multiple event registrations.

With other platforms, if donors were registered for three fundraisers in the same month, for example, they had three separate registrations to manage. While Qtego only requires a phone number for each registration, the experience with Qtego is far more convenient and expedited for the user.

With platforms other than Qtego, it was and still is even more complicated. In many cases, users are required to recall multiple usernames, email addresses and passwords for separate logins. For these platforms, getting “incorrect username” or “incorrect password” notifications can lead to cart abandonment. Plus, juggling passwords and logins can make it practically impossible for supporters to keep tabs on auction bids.

To streamline the user experience for Qtego events, Multievent Participation made it possible for donors to easily toggle from one event to another with a seamless giving experience, thus establishing the industry precedent.

Throughout his career, Smith has seen firsthand how Qtego’s culture of innovation has led to new product development, with innovations working hand in hand.

If someone is registered for seven events and they are outbid on item 101, how do they know which event item 101 is associated with? Using Multievent Participation with Text Communication, our team figured out a way to check all of the events a person is registered for, notify them if they are outbid and provide a direct link to the correct auction.

The world needs lots of mission-driven organizations to serve those in need, and Qtego is always leading the way to create a frictionless user experience. Multievent Participation helps make it happen.
